An LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) boiler works in a similar way to a natural gas boiler, but instead of using natural gas as its fuel source, it uses LPG. LPG is a flammable hydrocarbon gas that is stored in a tank on your property and is delivered to your boiler when needed.
When the LPG boiler is switched on, a burner ignites the LPG, which heats up the water in the boiler’s heat exchanger. The hot water is then circulated through your home’s heating system, such as radiators or underfloor heating pipes, to provide warmth.
Like natural gas boilers, LPG boilers can be used for both heating and hot water supply. However, it’s important to note that LPG boilers require regular maintenance and safety checks, and should only be installed and serviced by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
